Every product on Andable is badged with the letters that tell you why it was made better. You can even search by FRESH features, so that you can buy by what’s important to you.
FRESH badges aren’t official certifications, but are instead tools shops can use to tell the story of their products.

What does FRESH stand for?

Fair trade or better business practises
For example:
Creates fair work opportunities for the economically disadvantaged. Generally refers to workers in developing countries.
You or your shop employee workers who are economically disadvantaged. Workers are paid fairly, no child labour is used, and working conditions are good. Profit does not come at the expense of workers.
A portion of your proceeds go to good.
You or your shop donates a portion of revenue or profits to and organisation, person or cause with a social mission.

Recycled / Upcycled / Found objects
The product is made with materials that have been previously used for another purpose.
Vintage / Antique
The product has been previously used or has been created at least twenty years ago.

Eco-friendly
From clean water to energy conservation to waste reduction, eco-friendly means different things to different people.

Reduced waste
The function of the product is to reduce waste, i.e. reusable coffee cup, bicycle
Organic, sustainably harvested, bio-dynamic, wild-crafted
Animal friendly
The product was made with no animal products or byproducts, is animal cruelty free, and was not tested on animals.
Natural materials / Ingredients
The product was created with natural materials or ingredients.
Low chemical / Chemical free
The product was created with or includes fewer chemicals than most traditionally made products of its kind.
Minimal waste produced in production
The product was created with less waste than most traditionally made products of its kind.
Organic or biodegradable waste
When you dispose of the product, the byproduct is biodegradable.
Low / reusable packaging
The product uses less packaging than most traditional products of its kind, or you can re-use the packaging.

The product was designed, for example, within 250km of you.
Locally produced / sourced
The product was created or materials were sourced, for example within 250km of you. |

Handmade, by anyone
When sellers use a FRESH badge, the product should accurately and fully fit the FRESH description, unless the seller notes otherwise in the product description. |
