brooch- handprinted... poppy

this sweet little brooch is designed, carved and handprinted in my murwillumbah workshop in northern nsw.

it measures 3cm across.

full-metal casing & s-silver safety clasp for ease of pinning to clothes / bags etc

lovingly covered in a natural organic hemp fabric with a fresh, bold print that is a unique design of BIRCHseed.

The non toxic, waterbased eco ink used for the print is specific for fabric printing, so the rings is able to get wet while washing your hands etc.

The method of block-printing my textiles by hand allows me the time and space to SLOW down and enjoy an artful process whist being a stay at home mum. I design and hand-carve each block for printing myself. Each block usually contains just one object which is then individually inked and hand pressed onto fabric to form a unique surface pattern. This method creates some lovely ‘imperfections’ that lend themselves to the organic and wholesome 'ooak' nature of my end products.
