Transcendence is a collection of bronze jewellery, influenced by antique settings, created using modern casting techniques. The pieces have been produced in (numbered) limited editions and each piece carries an inscription on the surface worn closest to the skin. An emphasis is placed on the apparent prior existence of the item and the value of the narrative of the piece. It is intended that though the interaction with the jewellery items and / or upon reflection of the messages, the audience will be spurred on to remember loved ones and moments past, mourn and celebrate the lives of others, be comforted in familiar phrases and kind words, to feel a sense of an enduring spirit connecting others or maybe even acknowledge the words, regretfully left unsaid.
